Sounds like the right move for you, congrats. The 2.0T and V6 are great cars. We live in a strange time with HP everywhere and it is all too easy to get caught in the numbers game. Sometimes less truly is more, especially for a street car not looking for drag or lap times.
I've had many performance cars - some high HP FI V8s, some low HP 4s and 6s and can say there is no direct correlation with amount of HP and amount of fun. I have a V6 RS manual that is actually fun on the street because you can wind it out and it is comfortable. The way it handles reminds me a bit of an old school muscle car because it has a compliant suspension and is easy to get sideways if you want. It's fun!
