I understand your concern that someone (be it a customer or one of the techs) took your car for a 'test drive', and decided to see what the car do, but in reality, most dealers would not let a customer take the car out by themselves. Bottom line, to me, you're being far to picky. These cars are designed/built to take advantage of the power. They're not made of tissue paper.

Even if they took the car above 4,000rpm once or twice, that's not going to damage the car. Yes you're supposed to keep it under 4,000 for the duration of the break-in period, but that doesn't mean one or two rev's is going to ruin the car.

If you're that picky about a mere 14 miles, walk away. You'd be worrying about possible damage forever.
Thanks. I know other higher-end brands are driven around tracks. GM seems so adamant on the parameters of the break-in.

The car is priced better than any deal I could ever expect to get in my area.
