It's been quite a while since I've dealt with nitrous but I recall having to adjust timing and replace the spark plugs. I've been reading through posts here but have several questions I was hoping to get some help with.
1.) From what I've read, a 100-150 shot is safe on this car without the need for additional modifications. Does anyone have information contrary to this?
i agree with this statement, as long as you pull some timing and keep a eye on octane/datalogs.
2.) How do I adjust the timing on this car? The Nitrous Outlet WinMax controller states that it has two timing settings but am I correct in assuming that it doesn't actually adjust the timing, or does it?
you need to use hptuners or purchase the expensive lnc-2014 device from lingenfelter
3.) What plugs are recommended?
I would recommend one heat range colder. NGK 6510 spark plugs gapped .034 thou
4.) Aside from plugs and timing, is there anything else that I'd need look into?
possibly a boost a pump. a datalog can confirm if your fueling is keeping up. consider e85?
5.) How would this work with launch control? Would I need to adjust the window switch to not activate at all in 1st gear or is there another way to make sure that it doesn't spray during pre-launch?
there is no reason to not use nitrous just after launch as long as you leave at a reasonable rpm.
6.) Where is everyone mounting their switches? I've seen a couple pictures of a switch panel that looks like it would go in the center consol, but can't seem to find anything for sale. I have a couple 3D printers so I can make my own panel if needed but would still like to find an inconspicuous place to mount everything.
i never used nitrous on my 2016 camaro; but i did add plenty of toggles/switches to the center console with ease.
7.) What about mounting the WinMax controller? Are there any recommendations on where to mount it?
how about right below the engine start button? this is where i installed my water/meth controller when i was using snow performance stage 3.
Thanks for the help!
