If keeping your Warranty air-tight is the #1 priority, then the dealership you'd be bringing your car to for Warranty claims should be heeded. Most dealerships aren't going to be bothered with something like an official Ask Tadge or Ask Al response, as those are more-or-less engineering based answers, which unfortunately has nothing to do with appeasing the Warranty claim process.
Since your dealer says no to 0W-40, then you're sticking with Dexos1 5W-30.
