Late 90’s LT1 was iron block, reverse flow cooling, and regular port injection. Spark was handled by the “Opti-spark” which was driven off the front of the motor (and right behind the water pump...lol) and fed all 8 cylinders. Very short runner intake manifold made of aluminum gave much better HP numbers than the L98 engine it replaced (but less mid-range torque). Throttle body was dual 48mm blades if memory serves.
So, the bore spacing is probably the only thing that is the same.
