Old man seems to have given a really great answer, but I would add a couple things:
1. The increased fuel love allows you to get more fuel into the system and that allows more power more safely.
2. Along with the cam, you will be adding several other parts, springs, rods, the kit that also includes strengthened part a over stock. My opinion is that is also the time to add forged pistons, but many stay with stock internals.
