They have to prove that what you did caused damage(magnuson Moss Warranty Act) fuel trims will prove you are fine when they submit the ECU data.
If your engine blows up they have to send the data in to get work approval. So again pretty safe on this one.

The MM act is not for people who want to remove parts from their car in an effort to go faster. It is so that the manufacturer cannot force you to buy their branded parts for stuff like repairs and maintenance. So many people falsely quote that in an effort to expect warranty for mods.
As for the fuel trims saving your warranty, that is pretty comical. You realize the manufacturer would rather not pay your warranty claim right? So you expect the dealer (manufacturers representatives) to send your ecu to the manufacturer so that they can decide to cover your car that is modified? That's good stuff!
