Relatively speaking the Zl1 driver drove like a novice. Even the the guy in the GT350 admitted to being in a higher group level than the guys on that track. But he didn't have to admit that; Just looking at the way the ZL1 driver approached the corners, you can tell he wasn't as good a driver.
Even the non-1le ZL1's track times were better than the GT350R, so the argument about which car is more capable is pointless. If we're talking about driver skill, that's different. If we're talking about subjective attributes, the GT350R 'won' many of the head to head comparisons, because the engine sounds and exhaust note were deemed to be better. It hasn't won on actual track performance drivers being equal.
