What people do just to have that keyfob.
Enjoy going to high end restaurants and clubs where people dont know about cars, they just know its a porsche.

I love porsches but not the ones that are produced just to keep funding their 911’s
The cars are different and provide different experiences. I like and appreciate both of the cars in question. The Cayman S (to be fair I haven't driven the latest gen) is a fantastic street car and it is very fun to drive. Interior quality is worlds better in the Cayman compared to the Camaro.

I actually prefer the Cayman to the 911. Your last statement makes me think that you haven't driven either of them. To me, people who buy a 911 just because it's a 911 are the silly ones when the Cayman is just so much more fun to drive.

The GT4 specifically is a wonderful car. While it's slower than the 1LE at the track, I enjoy driving GT4s more. I just don't want to pay for one.

So maybe he bought the car because he enjoys it and doesn't really care about people's reactions/perceptions? A buddy of mine (who is a Porsche guy) daily drives a Fiesta ST because he hates the perception people apply to him if he drives a Porsche. The Fiesta ST is actually a blast to drive too.
