Please note the first item that was found to lead to deposit formation - ENGINE OIL. And even the GM employee said that a catch can will reduce the amount of oil that enters the intake manifold.

And if you check out the video I posted you'd learn about what temps deposits form at and that it's possible high load/high rpm operation is a possible solution, and that gently driving your car may be the ideal environment for deposits to form.
It's best to keep an open mind about theses things, because the more experience you have as a mechanic and/or engineer, the more you understand there's a lot we don't know and that no one human being is omniscient and master of anything.
So far the best evidence we have points to excessive deposits NOT forming on the LT1 and that it actually gains power as it's used. We have very recent posts on a 40k and 60k mile LT1 with photos and instrumented testing. We have a GM engineer saying they aren't necessary.
