From the sounds of his vids, he crosses the traps near redline with the 3.27s on a 28". With 3.73s you are only partially in 6th gear when you cross the traps. Like around 5600 rpms.... with 26s, you would be around 6200 rpms.
Unless someone wants to show off their money and run 28s with 4.10s in a 9"

I hurt the 3.73 when I toasted the driveshaft this spring, it is usable but wasn't in good enough shape to daily drive it so that is why I went and bought the 3.27 unit. I have faith that if I still had the 3.73 in it that I prob would have run the same time, I may even put it back in and make a pass this fall to see....I was waiting to see how you did with yours first Dan before I did though.
I am skeptical on starting out in 2nd gear with a bolt-on only car, big power cars can pull that off but I don't think we can imo, try it and see, who knows. As we all know the 1:1 gear makes the most power and the 3.73 in an A8 gets there, I've done the experimenting and it costs approx .03 in e.t. and possibly 2 mph to complete the shift vs not having to shift close to the traps.
Imo if Dan can stand on the brakes and leave at 3500 rpm (prep permitting) and his tune is lined out, he could tickle 1.3 60' . A 26" tire along with a 3.73 makes me skeptical that the tires will hold, Fall Brawl is coming up and maybe someone will volunteer to make a wheel swap for discovery purposes.
