This makes me wonder about the unsold cars, sitting on dealer lots during the winter months that are in cold climates. Except for the batteries that need to be charged are jumped sometimes, they seem to be okay when spring arrives.
On my Gen 3 Viper and it was never recommended to engage the ebrake unless absolutely necessary, even in storage. Sometimes the ebrake wouldn't fully release and therefore the pads would get unnecessary wear and could eventually create surface damage to the rotor. Always has made me a little concerned about using it on any car. Of course if you have a lift or use jack stands, it's a non issue.
