103 mm TB to stock Manifold
I was reading a posting on the forum talking about TB and after market intake manifold’s. One member said that mating up a 103 mm TB to the stock manifold could not be done.
My Holley High Ram is currently getting painted and art work added so I had put on my stock Manifold and then noticed my 103 mm TB would not fit. So I put on the stock 92 mm TB. I started looking for a coupler or an adapter plate so I could use my 103mm TB. Then came across postings about guys porting their own intake manifolds. So I got out my trusty dremel tool and started to work on that 92 mm opening. The majority of work was on the lower portion so the blade could open fully. I also knocked out that breather tube that’s right in the middle of the flow. Breather tube will still function.
Keep in mind I am not by any means doing this for HP gains, just really to see if this can be done and fits. Well it fits and the 103mm TB is mated up to the manifold.
Tomorrow morning I will slap it on and see if it idles rights and opens up fine under a full load.
Edit: always thought stock TB was a 92mm, just looked up specs says 87mm.
