Warranty
Hi All,
I live in Dubai and have a 2017 Camaro SS. It was not purchased from the main dealer as it was an import from a private dealer./company. When purchased it came with a 3year/100,000km warranty from a local 3rd party warranty company.
It is now in the workshop with the dreaded transmission shudder and is having the flush and new transmission oil work done. Although the cost is being covered by the 3rd party warranty company, is it legal that the main Chevy dealer refuses to cover any warranty on imported vehicles? I thought the Chevy warranty was supposed to be valid worldwide!
They did however do some recall work when the car had its 10,000km service.
I would like to escalate this to Chevy NA and see what they have to say on this.
Any advice or contacts would be appreciated.
Incidentally by importing directly I saved around $12,000 US over the main dealer price. A 2SS Camaro will run you around $57,000 US here in Dubai from the main dealer....................
TIA
Stewart
