I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the engineers built a better car as I would say that the bean counters and marketing team on the Camaro side put together a better performing package. Whereas the Mustang bean counters and marketing team have a more rounded approach to their vehicles—except when it comes to the GT350R.

If they actually allowed their engineers to design the vehicle and not worry about what a large portion of the market thought and there was little concern about pricing, we’d have some very different pony cars in our stables.

I love both the Mustang and Camaro, having owned several of both. I was convinced that I was done with GM after my first Camaro but, the Mustang failed to capture me; that and the markups on GT350’s ended my search for them. If Ford dealerships hadn’t been trying to price gouge me, I’d have a GT350 in my garage, even knowing that it has build quality issues and isn’t as fast as a 1LE. It’s just a special car to me.
