Redeye...not even out yet. And MSRP with gas guzzler tax is $71,350 which is almost $10K more expensive than the ZL1. On top of it not being available until 2019 MY at which point the ZL1 will have been out for 2 MYs. Plus the ZL1 will destroy it around a track.

So what I don't get is why everyone is freaking out. GM built the ZL1 to such devastating specs that the competition too 2 MYs (3 for the GT500) to catch up. And in each case they each cost much more than the ZL1 does. One of those cars, the Hellcat/Redeye, will only be able to beat the ZL1 in a straight line and that is IF it can. I have my doubts. If it does it will probably be by only about 2 tenths which makes it a driver's race. The GT500 might beat the ZL1 in a straight line too but it won't touch the ZL1 1LE around a track. And still, IT TOOK 3 YEARS TO BEAT THE ZL1!! And I repeat, each of these cars cost way more than the standard ZL1.

Basically, GM is building cars that perform as well or better than the competition and at a lower price and with full options. So no, we do not need more HP. GM is working on the 7th Gen which will again shatter everyone and leave them playing catch up for 2-4 years. Now am I interested in a Redeye? Sure. Might I get one? I think so. GT500? Nah. But would I give up my ZL1 for either of these? Nope. Maybe for a Z06 or ZR1 but nothing else. But right now and for this segment in Muscle/Pony Car history the ZL1 is the absolute king.
That's why I said with the refresh 2019 Camaro --->> also not even out yet. But it will be together with the Hell Cat and the Red eye so that's why I started this. ( they say this fall they will come)
Ok it was in the lead for those couple of model years ...so now when the competition steps up I would expected a upgrade on the refresh model what is relatively easy to do.
And it is maybe different bc I like the vert here in SWFL I don't do track days with it I just want awesome power when I floor it on the road the more the better with warranty. How many of the ZL1 guys do track days anyways, they bought the 1LE right.
That being said also as a daily American roads are famous about not having many curves anyways so for a Red Eye it will be "easy" to outrun the Camaro. All I'm asking is 75 more horsies without a whole redesign of the car, just to keep up (out run) the competition.
BTW track imo is overrated bc that's all about the driver and less about the car or you have to be at the track almost every day.
