Another reasoning for T4 replacing V6 is the amount of torque they output. As found with Mr. Russ's Mazda CX-9, that 2.5 T4 makes 350 lb/ft (provided you're using premium fuel). Same as the new GM 2.7 T4 in the truck making 348 lb/ft. Now, both of these are meant for SUV/Truck applications, so in a performance car those number will change. Even the Mustang and Focus RS make mid-300 tq and thats what most drivers actually feel in a street car. Most people cannot actually have enough road to stretch the legs on engines where the HP can take over.
