I asked Brian about that. His reply was "most of the time, I lock them"
I think it goes without saying, if you use his flex fuel tune- you can pretty much bet on a lock. Being the only guy to spend the time and energy making that function properly on the LTG, I sure as heck wouldn't just hand it over. I'm fairly confident using the PCM write count protection would also be locked, (once again, who else has that?), and also because if the file is messed with in any way, it changes, and would null any protection against incremental write counts. If your not planning on using either one of those two services, I would message him with your concerns and see what he says. Super easy, nice guy to talk too, and will get straight to the point.
I really don't blame anyone for trying to protect their work though, the automotive industry has become cut-throat, and guys will, without a second thought, rip off your work and laugh all the way to the bank..
