Cool Vermont Tuning - a totally basic review

Hey All:

I wanted to throw my opinion in about VT; feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer.

After seeing Coopers posts about his experience I reached out to Brian and got a bottom line price, paid via credit card on a Friday, and had my device in-hand the following Monday.

I ran some current numbers for Brian and got them to him Monday night and by Tuesday morning I had a tune in my inbox. Loaded the tune Tuesday night and ran some stock as well as tuned numbers and had a revised tune in on Wednesday morning. I asked Brian to crank up the throttle response a little and he did as well as making a few other minor adjustments.

I've been running the tune since last Thursday and the log shows I'm putting down (peak) 325 hp / 348 lb-ft (HP is calculated as Cooper indicated in his build thread)

I'm not bothered too much about dynos and I'm not racing the car, I just wanted something to unleash the potential I know this car has. I'm running 93 so nothing special there. I can tell you that the car now takes off from a dead stop and has passing power that it didn't have before.

I may add a catted downpipe in the future and would love to hear opinions from those who have one (zzp or other) about what that does for the car in terms of power/feel

Again, I'm not a racer and not bothered about 1/10ths of seconds personally - I'm coming off of an LS1 2000 FB that was putting down 357/360 at the wheels so I didn't want to feel I was going too far backwards from a power perspective.

The experience with the VT tune makes the car feel "fun" again and that's what I wanted

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will give you my opinion
