Here is just doing the lower.. I've dynoed at Sorians place 643, 658 and 659.. I'll say its 650 rwhp.. I did it all for less than 2100.00 including the tune... Shops price 4500 plus!
I think the lower is easier to do yourself vs taking the snout off and pressing the pulley off, there was a guy that cut stock one off a few weeks ago and only had marginal scars on the shaft. Nothing terrible.. Another thing about the doing the lower it's not wasting 230 plus if you get a bigger blower later.
I see a problem unless you have unlimited funds like Scott lol! I'm Jelly! The next 100 hp will cost an arm and a leg and you will have to use meth to combat IATs and as fueling source...
You can spend money (parts w labor)on heat exchangers $1600.00, low side fuel pump $900, a cam $4000.00, an upper $500.00 even port the heads $3200.00 and port the blower 1800 including the 103mm, Flex sensor $600.00 but, the fuel system even with the cam will not let you run straight e85 its gonna be a 93 with e85.. and you will also need meth.. If you want to run all e85 and not play roulette using meth it will cost another 1500.00 for the lingenfelter pump and 3600 to 4500 for Hiflow injectors from Fic or Lingenfelter. meth or all e85 should squeak out 800 rwhp with the baby blower to me I think its total waste of time to sink that time and money into such a baby blower that will max out 800 not to mention it will not be very efficient.
I'd been down that path 3 builds ago I was never doing that again I try to do mods that can be used as the end goal making the dollar stretch further. Every thing I did will transfer if upgrade to a whipple or 2650 blower.. the lower ATI ring will be a snap to change boost any time.. 230 for a upper plus labor isn't that much i guess to waste but, the lower only seems to be just fine and its not over spinning the blower to terribly in the heat.
I cant wait till the Kaytec injector pump is ready for the ZL1 its out for the vettes it will be about 5k and bolt on running off a belt. Then I'll get the FIC injectors and be able to run straight E85 with a 2650 blower probably will not even mess with a cam. Those mods I can do easily myself and get it tuned I'll probably do spring upgrade, locks and trunnions as well.
just figured I through some of the cost out there in case your unaware..
I think a lot shops talk people into doing a cam which is about 1500.00 in parts and 2500 plus in labor and tune.. only to pick up about 50 hp (yes you can make more if you run meth or mix e85) but a lot of times shops don't tell ya that. to me its to risky to rely on meth as a fuel source.. unfortunately that's the cheapest way since DI is so expensive.
