My 15 Mustang would pop up, only did it one time, but I started and drove it having left the fob on the roof (dumb) but got to the destination just down the street and shut it off when I the notice "restart now or key needed". Restarted and headed back to find the fob laying in the street.
There's no manner of bad design or whatever you want to call it when it's all on the operator to meet their marks.
