Are you happy with the acceleration of the Gen 6 V6? The Gen5 V6 was unacceptably slow when I test drove it, but the SS has more capability than I can use anywhere except the drag strip.
I have owned a 2015 5th Gen V6 and then a 2017 6th Gen 1LT V6.

They are ENTIRELY two different cars... ENTIRELY...no comparison whatsoever except they share pretty close to the same motor.

The 2015 5th Gen V6 felt bulky and although it had like 300+ HP, its massive weight really bogged it down especially under highway speeds. It was still decently quick but I was never really able to call it a Camaro.. it was just a bulky tank that carried the Camaro Badge.

The 2016 + V6 on the other hand... oh my goodness what a difference its unbelievable. Its like they did away with all the bad things on the 5th Gen V6 and kept the formidable powertrain, and the A8 transmission, and finally...displacement on demand...

The 5th Gen V6 is slightly slower than a 1993 - 1997 LT1 4th Gen F-Body
The 6th Gen V6 is possibly on par with the NON-freak LS1 4th Gen F-Body cars...and I own a 4th Gen Z28... There was still a difference but my V6 definitely felt like it could compete with my LS1.

Now, it's not going to throw you in the back seat like a SS will, and it isn't going to give you the music and instant torque a V8 makes, but it does pack a mean punch for what it is and is still a very capable car by todays standards.

Test drive a 6th Gen V6 for yourself and see. It will be a night and day difference from a 5th Gen V6.
