OK, got the 305/35/20 MT ET Street SS tires put on. Here is my comparative review vs the R888R:
Noise - gone; R888R were LOUD; the MT is much quieter.
Handling - the shop put in 38psi and the car was all over the road; I dropped the pressure to 25 and it is much better. Still follows ruts but does not feel dangerous like it did with all that air. Keeping in mind drag radial vs comp tire, I have no concerns with the MT based on my driving habits.
Grip - nice improvement; 0-60 dropped by .2 (cold) - .4 (hot) with TC on. With no TC the car will still not "dead hook" but it spins only briefly and moves out, unlike the R888R which sat in place and fishtailed through 3 gears.
