Like you said, winning armchair HP battles isn't the Camaro's focus. If you want more than 650HP, then go buy a Hellcat, or go aftermarket with the ZL1. No trouble getting over the grand with deep enough pockets.
Just remember, no matter how much power you have, there will always be someone with more.
