This is the primary reason for the question. If there is no power gain, then the only point of changing the exhaust is to change the exhaust tone. I can't replace any components before or including the cats without affecting smog compliance (I don't want to go that route anymore).

In all of my previous cat-backs from a '88 Fox Body Mustang, '98 Camaro Z28, to a '04 Corvette Coupe, all of the bolted on to an existing flange of the OEM exhaust. I would be willing to do and cat-back that was a simple bolt in bolt out.

While I would like to change the exhaust sound to be more muscle car like, I don't want to cut up the stock pipes to do this. I see no real advantage to changing the muffler. So I will probably just keep it stock.
