The small blower crap was due to the Z06 changing from n/a to supercharged. They had to clear the hood, so the only option was a small blower. The ZR1 gets that huge hood bulge to clear the 2650. The ZL1 was also stuck with the 1.7 because GM is too rigid to think beyond the bottom line.
