Was referring to the last GM product I had the displeasure to drive (save winter and snow) Of course, indirectly, the Caprice has been out of service for what 13-14 years. I surmise I should have said fleet of 04 Impalas...as I assumed everyone knew the Caprice hasn't been around in a decade.
Mike Judge sent me a link about the new Caprice and spoke a little about them in Oshawa. Although nice, Ford will be continuing production of the Crown Vic Interceptor package until 11 and I anticipate most departments will stick with them. Ford may rethink ceasing production. Most departments will not go to a 355 HP platform as there is no reason to. We shall see what major departments decide in the next 5 years, but don't expect PI to dissappear anytime soon. Ford has at least 65% of the market there.

It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
