Ford is in a tough spot. Do they target Dodge in acceleration (good luck), or take on the ZL1 in handling (1LE all but ensured that won't happen) - or be quicker than the Camaro with less handling, but slower than Dodge (maybe they will try to be quicker than the HC's, but the new power increase announcement puts that goal further out of reach as well)...

Time will tell, but I'm not anticipating the GT500 as much as I am curious as to where they focus the performance of it.
I guess we have to wait and see if the 797-hp Hellcat is actually a replacement for the present Demon or is it the standard Hellcat. The ZL1-1LE is a race option for the ZL1. I don't think Ford has to meet or exceed either the performance of the track 1LE or Demon to be successful, their target is the ZL1 and Hellcat. There can always be an R model or Dragpack version later.

To think that you will be able to produce Demon numbers on the strip and 1LE numbers on the track in the same car for a $65-$75k vehicle may be asking too much. Look at it this way how much work would have to be done to the ZL1-1LE to have it capable of running high 9s at the strip while maintaining its track ability? The ZR1 may struggle to meet both of these targets.
