Actually, they are correct. In the trunk, you should find a paper with instructions on how to install them. Somewhere near the top of the paper it specifies that they are for track-use only. Leaving them on during regular driving will risk causing damage by allowing more road debris and water to hit the back of the brake assembly.

The only installation paper I found was for the two front sections and it says nothing I could find about track use only.
