Bots On's, LT's, stock muffler; better sound?
Guys
Just got my car back from the bolt-on mods. Long tubes, cat delete, X pipe, pulley, stock muffler, tune.
Reason I kept the stock muffler was to have ability to quiet down sound when want to. Obviously knew this route would be louder than stock but DAMN this thing is loud now! The thing I don't like even more is the tone with the stock muffler. I think it's very "blatty" and just off...hard to explain. This is mostly with the baffles closed. I had an '01 WS6 w/long tubes, no cats and borla. Loved that sound. Roared when WOT and reasonable when part throttle, but was still quieter over all and had great tone all round.
Any of you guys that did similar mods feel the same?
I know there are exhausts with the NPP option. Anyone go that route and feel it better? I know better is a subjective term.
Looking for a more consistent tone and actually would like it a little quieter.
Really don't want to go green cats as told they will eventually fail but understand they help take edge off the roar at WOT...
Thanks
