I had the Gen6 V6 before trading it for the V8. In simple terms, it's very nimble and somewhat peppy, but has too little displacement and no FI, thus no low end torque. You need to rev the V6 out to 4.5-5k to feel anything.
Now if you don't mind that and maybe have other strong priorities (handling, electronics, fuel economy...), you'll like the V6, but in terms of speed and throwing you back in your seat, I seriously doubt that it would feel fast enough after a Gen5 SS.
