You can't be serious. The stock exhaust after the cold start cycle is extremely quiet even in track mode which is the only mode mine ever saw. Once you're cruising you can't hear anything. And when I would hammer it, all I heard was blower and engine sound, no exhaust really that I can recall. Pulling into a car meet or similar and you couldn't hear anything. Sure wide open throttle, if you were standing outside the car it's loud. But so is my 6.2 pickup.
I didn't want to butcher the stock exhaust and I didn't want it to be too loud. My setup is perfect for me. I can reset to stock without any harm done, it's loud enough for me, gets a few more looks, and sounds great when just playing around. Headers + No cats + Stock NPP would be louder, and I doubt I could handle that in track mode 100% of the time. Headers into Corsa? You'd be deaf on cold start.
I don't think it's "silly" to put a cat-back on this car. If you like yours stock, then don't touch it. But no need to tell other people they shouldn't touch theirs either.
