I didn't realize the date on this thread!
There was an instructor at the last Camaro Fest who tailed me around NCM road course without losing me in a stock 1SS...no fluid, no special pads, no hp mods...it was a rental.
His skill was such that he was able to keep up with me, and very nearly pass me in about half a lap.
At that moment where he could have passed me - he boiled his brakes.
So the SS is pretty damn good in stock form, especially in the hands of a driver like that.

Yeah my dealership is super chill, I will be able to have them put my fluid in at their labor costs. My last Camaro it was a V6 RS and I had a tune, headers, intake, intake manifold, throttle body, intake manifold spacers and suspension work and I blew my motor at 45k miles and they replaced the motor under full warranty. And wow that driver must have been pretty impressive.
