I was looking into this for my A8 2ss as well but MBRP told me the catbacks are designed for manuals only and install at your own risk (obviously with any).
id go with borla 60606 , not 100% if the mid would directly mate to the axle back but from others ive seen they sound decent.
im yet to see a system that isn't on the raspy side though.
