Most tires are not directional, so they can be on either side of the car, rotating in one direction or the other.
What type of tire you have is AWAYS indicated on the sidewalls.
Asymmetric tires are marked "OUTSIDE".
Directional tires are marketed with an arrow and "ROTATION".
Some tires are both directional and asymmetric, and can't be swapped side to side. They have both markings.
Some tires are directional only, and can be on either side of the car, but only by remounting to preserve directional orientation.
Any real tire shop knows this, just not the kid mounting tires at Costco.
