Personally its one of the few things I hate about the car. Everything is tied into everything and there is no master switch to turn it all off. But it makes it a great all around car if your focus isn't all about drag racing which mine is.
Launch Control is intended to give you max acceleration using the computer on board system which hinders power and torque delivery. You are waiting for the ecu to get feedback on what the tires are doing then make corrections to stop the spin then bring power back in to the point of spinning then pull power back out. All the adjusting or recovery is what makes it slower then just using your foot.

So are you racing with TC turned off then? I was surprised to discover that there is no "STABILITRAK OFF" setting. If you hold the TC button down in my truck you can get rid of everything
