Everyone will say you are faster without it especially at the track. I don't agree with that but I haven't been able to test my car out at the track yet. On the street the consistency of launch control seems to vary, but I don't have data to back that up.
I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone could do better than launch control, unless there tune is modified from stock and throwing off the torque control. Unless GM just threw launch control in there as a way to keep people from crashing or suing people, I actually believe they somewhat optimized it for its intended purpose.
