Absolutely love my 2018 2SS 1LE. Researched and thought about replacing my M235i with a 1LE as soon as they were announced two years ago. I obsessed over the 1LE for those two years. The availability of the 1LE with the 2SS finally pushed me to pulling the trigger.
I bought the 2018 a few weeks prior to the refresh. Now that I see the refresh, I do have a few minor regrets. I stress they are MINOR.
The things I do prefer with the 2019 (at least on paper) are:
- Hood styling
- Tail Lights
- Next Gen MyLink Infotainment
- Improved Rear Camera
- Rear Camera Mirror
If I could have just one of those improvements on my car, it would probably be the rear camera mirror. It seems to solve the majority of visibility issues while keeping the cool styling. Next would be the hood, though I am not unhappy with the 2018 hood.
As far as the 2019 front end, I don't love it or think it's necessarily an improvement over the 2018, but I don't hate it either. I could live with it, given that I would be getting the improvements listed above.
If I had waited one more month and seen the refresh before buying the 2018, I honestly don't know what I would have done.
I wanted the car now, so the additional 6 month or more wait might have been unbearable... but on the other hand, it wasn't like I didn't already have a pretty fun car to bide my time with.
