I don't believe it's people don't know how to use a stick shift, it's the fact it's easier and faster because the technology has caught up. It wasn't too long ago to have the fastest car on the strip or the track it had to be a manual. Street cars and race cars. Now all the high end machines on and off the track use a version of an automatic. There is nothing wrong with wanting a manual, in some cars it's all I'd own. But saying a car doesn't NEED one because it's simply not what you prefer is silly. They are in the business of making cars that they can sell and I guarantee if they made an auto 1LE it would sell very well.
