The Michelin does have a higher treadwear rating, which is a good gauge (but cannot, in and of itself be directly compared between manufacturers...or even between tires). The MP4S ALSO has more physical tread to begin with. 9.5/32" v 7/32". So even if they had the same wear characteristics, you've got about 30% more tread to burn through on the Michelins.

The GY G:3 tires are more track-oriented, hence the shallower tread...while the MP4S are more street-oriented.
