They have done something. They cut production last year and canceled a shift at the plant. GM has a new way of doing business and that is to minimize incentives as much as possible by only producing the amount of cars needed to meet demand. They couldn't care less if the Charger and Mustang outsell the Camaro, as long as they are maximizing profits by limiting fleet sales and retail incentives. The stock owners are grinning from ear to ear, as even though new car deliveries are off substantially on nearly all models, profits are way up. I myself wouldn't expect any large incentives on any new Camaro, regardless that there is a refresh coming in the fall. Sadly, if we do see any type of large incentives they will more than likely come in the way of qualifying rebates along the lines of the conquest rebate we saw in March. As for May incentives, history tells us that the spring and summer months are sports car selling season, so traditionally they are the worst months for the buyer to cash in on a great deal.
