Basically, I like everything except for the SS bumper blackout with flowtie, as everybody is complaining about.
I very strongly feel the car has improved in every other aspect. I like the rear tail lamps and absolutely love what they did with the RS bumper. The RS looks like an extremely classy and slightly more futuristic version of the 5th gen bumper and gets me about as excited as I'd been back when the 5th gen debuted. In a convertible form, it looks like a proper representation of a late 1960s boulevard cruiser.
GM, if you're reading this, please offer a car that looks exactly like this with 8 cylinders, and I may finally trade in my 5th gen. Perfect balance of muscle and class. And this is coming from somebody who was incredibly critical of the 6th gen at launch, so I'm your target audience for this refresh as one of the holdouts. In fact, if you just offered an RS with a slightly detuned v8 and no other improvements and sold it at a price below the 1SS, I think this would truly be a winning strategy that would sway a lot of others as well. A lot of us want access to a v8 without the hyper aggressive styling, cutting edge track performance features, and higher cost. Something that looks nice and can go in a straight line is absolutely fine.
