On my SS, I did a simple muffler delete and had them weld the stock tips back on the straight pipe.... to this day, it still sounded better than any of the aftermarket axlebacks available for the LS3. You may actually consider doing that instead...the video below is not my ZL1, but it is one that has had the muffler delete done.. (roughly $100-150 depending on the shops, maybe cheaper if you know someone)
Either way, you have to go after what you like and is within your budget...there will be pros/cons to anything you choose
