What I can say is that drone is blown out of proportion by a lot of guys on this forum and the Vette forums. That's why you guys never get a different sound. If you truly want a louder different sound, more drone will be there. There's no way around it.
All I'm saying is that you get what you pay for. It's pretty obvious why it's louder and why it drones. I like having barely street-legal sound without my brain vibrating in my head when I cruise around at 60.
