In stock form the A10 is tuned much better from the factory, but the A8 comes to life with a good TCM tune. That being said, I honestly do not see it being a huge upgrade but perhaps a noticeable one. The A8 is only getting a bad rap because of the converter shudder issue. That is not a trans problem. The A8 will hold a bunch of power in stock form and it is a completely different animal with tuning. Also the gearing is not much different between the 2 transmissions for the first 4 gears. 5th is the biggest difference where the A10 is 1.56 and the A8 is 1.27...so the A8 will have more RPM drop on the 4-5. So in a nutshell the 2 transmissions are similar to 4th gear, the A10 has basically 1 more useable gear before 1:1 and adds another overdrive.
