The 18" wheel rule is also super easy to police without opening hoods and reviewing all the mods and it splits the class right down the middle every year, just like you see in this thread. There are lots of ways to class cars and it's never perfect for everyone but this rule hasn't changed since Fest 4 or 5 and it's worked very well. It's also easy for folks to swap tires if they want and run the class of their choice.

There's also Bracket racing and plenty of open racing. Also looking at a 5th Gen vs 6th Gen face off too. If you're running 10's you'll be very competitive in the unlimited class. I think 11.1 won super mod 2 years ago.
I can understand the rule being easy to enforce. The issue I have with it is that a 17” wheel does not take a major car change like say a 15” wheel. A 17 will bolt right on just like an 18 whereas a 15 takes a full conversion kit in order to fit which is where I personally think the wheel rule should be implemented instead. Strictly just my opinion which doesn’t carry much weight, I’m aware.

I would have been driving my car to the event on 17’s with a drag radial just as it goes down the track. I strongly disagree that a 10 second car would be competitive in the unlimited class considering I see a few cars listed that run bottom 9’s. But regardless, hope you ladies and gentlemen have fun at the event
