i did the research before opting for the 2ss, but the difference is negligible. that thing under the hood is pumping out 450hp...is a few extra pounds going to make that much of a difference?

Nope, you're exactly right. But it's Not really the hp but the torque is what really makes a 20 lb at most difference completely negligible.
The 2SS will match every performance number of the 1SS.
