(And I don't believe the fanboy excuse in the other threads about how the total profit for Camaro is higher than the Mustang, Challenger, etc..)

Chevrolet wasted all of the major auto shows this year on a Hot Wheels edition Camaro. Think about that for a minute.... Those auto shows are insanely expensive. How many more Camaro sales do you think they'll get? There's no chance they'll ever sell enough Hot Wheels cars to even make up the auto show costs, much less turn a profit. No matter how much they advertise that vehicle, there are only a limited number of buyers for that car. Regardless of what Mattel paid Chevrolet, they'll never recoup the lost opportunity to show off what's new for '19.

Had they shown the '19s early. People would at least be able to make a decision to wait or move forward with an '18. Keeping customers in limbo can't be the best approach or all manufactures would be doing it.
The Base SS was slower than the GT during the fifth gen in most ways. It sold better.

Better performance very rarely has to do with better sales.

If they'd have announced it last year, sales for the 2018 Camaros would be even less than they are currently.

I'm gonna go with they probably know more than you when it comes to how to sale a brand.
