For avoiding arguments with the Service rep / manager at the dealership while under warranty, it is advisable that you do.
Of course nothing to do with the true quality of the oil...Does not have to be Dexos certified to be good.
However, you can find good quality fully synthetic 40-Weight oils, that are also Dexos2 certified, I.E. Valvoline MST, Motul 8100-Xclean, Etc.
