Did some digging and this is what I found....
It’s currently a TSB only. The fix (which we all can do ourselves) is pull the fuse. I’m having a hard time finding the exact fuse at the moment, so do this instead....unplug the battery in the trunk for 5 minutes. This will clear/have same affect. May have to reset some of your personalization settings but will bring HUD back.
Unless something drastically changes this probably won’t turn into a recall. But a second TSB will be released or they will issue a revision to this TSB with a software update to the HUD module, if they determine software will fix it.

Thanks for the heads up Adam. I'll add to the battery un-hook, to make sure you get a total reset.
If you pull the negative cable, hop in the seat and press your brake for a few seconds. That will drain the ECU's back-up power.
